These include tongue, lip and buccal ties. I wanted you to have a good basic understanding of what these were and how they interrupted or made breastfeeding more challenging.
The top 5 breastfeeding positions. Which one is best for you? The best one for you is the one where you and your baby are both comfortable and relaxed, and you don't have to strain to hold the position or keep nursing. My best advice is to recognize that there are no cookie cutter answers and be open to experimenting.

The palate is located in the roof of the mouth. It separates the oral and nasal cavities and provides stability to the facial structures. When you touch the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue you will be hitting the hard palate. In breastfeeding, the hard palate's function is to assist with the positioning and stability of the nipple when drawn into the mouth.

Always get evaluated first but Tongue tie in adults can cause major health issues
the first day of your babies life, it is nice to be able to breastfeed within the first few hours after the birth. It would not be uncommon for your baby to be quite sleepy the first 24 hours and perhaps only wake up enough to feed perhaps 2-3 more times that first 24 hours.
My other reason for suggesting you take advantage of your hospital based IBCLC before discharge is because there are certainly enough times when we "catch" something significant that definitely would have been a "nice to know" before you left the hospital.
