Before you became a mother, you more than likely heard this more than once - sleep when your baby sleeps. You saw how exhausted your friends who became new parents were. You never expected your best friend who just had a baby 4 weeks ago to say no to meeting you for dinner at your favorite restaurant.
When I talk to parents, the belief is that if your baby has a tongue tie, you will probably not be able to enjoy normal and comfortable breastfeeding. Dominique found it hard to believe that her third babies tie was the reason for her painful breastfeeding because her other babies who were diagnosed with tongue tie breastfed just fine. She had no pain, she had plenty of milk they gained really well and they breastfed for well over a year. I wanted to address this issue so noone leaves confused.
A bereaved mother, Midwife Assistant, Doula, Certified Dancing For Birth™ instructor, Arizona Breastfeeding Bag Project Volunteer, East Valley Birth Circle regular, etc. etc for natural birth/parenting community groups; she grew up around bottle fed babies and yet when her time came she felt a strong instinct to breastfeed. That was almost 11 years ago and she's since clocked 7+ years breastfeeding 3 children! The breastfeeding relationship has been a very powerful dynamic in her life and she feels compelled to help spread the word to others about the benefits to both babies and women's and families whole-health
Lori will be sharing her personal experience when she nursed her first baby, in public for the very first time. If you would like to share your “My first time” story with our listeners, go tocontact me page and send us your story. We will share your story on our website and perhaps read it out loud on a show – with your permission, of course!
